Songs of the SEA Games  

We are excited for the upcoming SEA Games or Southeast Asian Games on June 15 to 16, 2015. It was announced that Singapore will host the SEA Games this time and many are anticipating its grandeur. The main venue is the Singapore Sports Hub. The Hub can host more than seven thousand athletes including their officials from thirty six sporting events.

The Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC) are preparing for the said event. On March 3, 2015, the committee launched the official music album of the 28th SEA Games. The album is titled “Songs of the Games”. It features fourteen pieces that are locally-produced. The album’s producer is Sydney Tan. The album also includes three official theme songs of the SEA Games.

Here are the songs of the SEA:

  • Greatest: Greatest is one of the three official theme songs of the SEA Games. It is written and performed by Daphne Khoo.
  • Flags Up: This is written and performed by The Sam Willows.
  • Unbreakable: Unbreakable is also one of the three official theme songs of the SEA Games. It is written by Amir Masoh and performed by Tabitha Nauser.
  • Ordinary: Ordinary is the last of the three official theme songs of the SEA Games. It is written by Amir Masoh and performed by The Sam Willows.
  • Champion: Champion is written by Charlie Lim and performed by The Sam Willows.
  • Still: Still is written and performed by Charlie Lim.
  • A Love SongUnbreakable: A Love Song- Unbreakable is written by Don Richmond and performed by Benjamin Kheng.
  • Forever: Forever is written by Joshua Wan and performed by The Steve McQueens.

  • You’re Almost There: You’re Almost There is written and performed by Joel Tan of Gentle Bones and co-written by Ruth Ling.
  • You’re Wonderful: You’re wonderful is written by Amir Masoh and performed by Tay Kewel, Gayle Nerva and Tabitha Nauser.
  • Dancing On The World: Dancing On The World is written and performed by Hubbabubbas.
  • Colours: Colours is written and performed by Jean Tan.
  • Reach: Reach is written by Dick Lee and performed by The MGS Choir featuring Dick Lee.

Music is very important because it can inspire the athletes and those who are listening to it as well. When we hear the beat, we feel excitement, when we understand the words, we feel motivated. The songs will surely enhance the athlete’s experience. If we want to hear the songs, we can go to the website of the SEA Games. We can also buy songs on iTunes from S$1.28 to S$1.48. The most practical thing to do is buy the entire album. The album only costs S$9.98.
